Darron A. C. Halliday completed his medical training at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona Kingston Jamaica. He did his internship and post graduate training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the School of Clinical Medicine and Research (UWI) Nassau Bahamas. He then completed a two year fellowship inGynecologic Oncology at the Tom Baker Cancer Center, University of Calgary, Alberta Canada. He then returned Nassau to work as a Gynecologic Oncologist at the Princess Margaret Hospital. He is an Associate Lecture at the SCMR UWI Bahamas and has a keen interest in the role of Virtual Learning Platforms in medical education.
He has received numerous awards. He was registrar of the year during his residency and afterward he received the coveted International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS) travel scholarship award. This provided the opportunity to travel to the gynecology oncology division
at the Jewish General Hospital Montréal, Québec, Canada. In addition to his clinical duties he also teaches and supervise residents, medical students, and nursing students. He attends international conferences regularly and is involved in research. He has a particular interest in cervical cancer and HPV related diseases and has published in these areas.
He is a member of a number of international societies that champion cancer care around the world including , The International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS), The Caribbean Gynecologic Cancer Society, The Society of Gynecologic Oncology(SGO), The Society of Gynecologic Oncology of Canada(GOC), and The African-Caribbean Cancer Consortium (AC3).
